…Ex-Arsenal midfielder to face trial over rape and assault charges involving three women
…Judge confirms Partey’s move to Villarreal after Arsenal exit

Thomas Partey, former Arsenal and Ghanaian international midfielder, has been barred from contacting any of his accusers as part of his bail conditions, following his appearance at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old, who now plays for Villarreal in Spain, is facing five charges of rape and one charge of sexual assault involving three different women. The alleged incidents span multiple years and locations, with the first formal charges filed just four days after his contract with Arsenal expired in late June.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring, who presided over the session, outlined the bail conditions, which include a strict no-contact order with the alleged victims and a requirement that Partey inform police of any permanent change of address or international travel.

Goldspring also made a pointed reference to Partey’s career shift, stating: “I understand he’s no longer employed in this country and playing in Spain now.” The remark confirms widespread speculation that Partey has joined Spanish club Villarreal following his departure from Arsenal.

Partey is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey, London’s central criminal court, on September 2, where further proceedings will unfold.

The case has sparked significant media attention both in the UK and Ghana, where Partey remains a prominent public figure due to his role in the national team and high-profile club career.
