The Cross River State Government, led by Governor Bassey Otu, is set to honour 52 civil servants with excellence awards in recognition of their dedication, productivity, and commitment to transparency. The initiative aims to inspire higher performance among workers across the state.
Head of Service, Dr. Innocent Eteng, made the announcement in Calabar while briefing journalists on the upcoming Civil/Public Service Day celebration. Themed “Re-engineering the Cross River State Civil Service for Efficient Service Delivery”, the event will feature the presentation of certificates, medals, and, in some cases, automatic promotions. He stressed that the process will be strictly merit-based, with awardees selected from all three senatorial districts and local government councils without any ethnic, tribal, or religious bias.
Dr. Eteng also revealed that Governor Otu has directed the immediate implementation of pending promotions. The Head of Service assured that lists have been compiled for submission to the Office of the Accountant General, and all outstanding promotions will be processed without delay.
