According to The Wall Street Journal, the transaction to Hipgnosis Songs Capital, which just paid Justin Timberlake half as much for his catalog, is nearing completion.

If it goes through, it will be the largest music acquisition in history.

It will comprise all six studio albums, singles, and collaborations by the ‘Sorry’ hitmaker.

Meanwhile, Bieber has recently made news after accusing H+M of marketing a goods collection without his authorization.

On Monday (19.12.22), the 28-year-old musician resorted to social media to criticize the fast-fashion clothing brand, claiming he did not approve of their latest line based on him.

He stated: “I DID NOT LIKE ANY OF THE MERCHANDISE COLLECTION AT H+M. I wouldn’t buy that if I were you.”

In a subsequent post, the ‘Baby’ hitmaker, who has been married to fashion model Hailey Bieber since 2018, referred to the collection as “crap” and urged his fans to avoid it.

He continued: “If you don’t like the H&M merchandise they made of you, don’t buy it. When everyone realizes I didn’t approve any of this merchandise, smh.” (sic)

Following Bieber’s outburst, a spokesman for the apparel company claimed that proper standards were followed before launching the line, however it appeared that all but one piece of goods from the range – a $15 tote bag carrying his face – had been withdrawn from the website hours later.

The spokesman stated in a statement, “As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H M followed proper approval procedures.”

Meanwhile, in an effort to “defend the people,” the artist recently created an official water brand for the Qatar World Cup, collaborating with premium alkaline water business Geneoristy to give refreshments to those attending the games in the Middle East country via refillable fountains.
