Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has reaffirmed that power will move to the Anambra Central Senatorial District after the completion of his second term in office, vowing to protect the state’s long-standing zoning agreement.

Soludo made the declaration during a political rally held in his honour by the people of Anaocha Local Government Area on Saturday. The governor, who hails from Aguata in the South Senatorial Zone, stressed that equity must prevail when his tenure ends.

“After my administration, I will ensure that governance is handed over to someone from the Anambra Central Senatorial District,” Soludo announced. “This is my commitment to ensuring inclusivity and fairness in political representation. We have a zoning formula in Anambra, and we will ensure it is not disrupted.”

Soludo succeeded Chief Willie Obiano from the North Senatorial Zone and has consistently faulted aspirants outside the South for attempting to destabilize the rotational arrangement.

In a major political boost, all 10 communities in Anaocha unanimously endorsed Soludo for a second term. Speaking on behalf of the Presidents-General of the communities, Chief Kenneth Echendu applauded the governor’s development strides.

“Governor Soludo has improved our communities through robust infrastructural development. The road and facility enhancements have made access to essential services easier for everyone. His engagement with community leaders has fostered collaboration and good governance at the grassroots level,” Echendu said.

The massive endorsement signals growing grassroots momentum ahead of the next governorship election.
